Four 20-ft. Yagi antennas are already assembled, but at this moment I realized it would be difficult for me to raise the entire assembly on top of the tower (*). So I decided to cut the tower by about seven feet. You can see me removing the top of the tover.

* Don't forget, I was already 70 years old
   then and the entire antenna system,
   including a vertical rotator, an H-frame
   and a set of feeding/phasing cables, was
   quite heavy.

Safety considerations, antenna access for maintenance and eventual repairs also played a role in making the decission to shorten the height of the tower.
